Beach Access Guide
Grayton Beach State Park
Grayton Beach State Park is one of the crown jewels of the Florida State Park system, consistently rated among the top beaches in the United States. The park encompasses 2,220 acres of pristine coastal habitat along Scenic Highway 30A, featuring towering sand dunes, rare coastal dune lakes, and over a mile of undeveloped Gulf-front beach.
Western Lake, one of the rare coastal dune lakes found along 30A, is a centerpiece of the park. These lakes periodically break through the dunes to connect with the Gulf, creating a unique ecosystem found in only a few places on Earth. The park offers kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing on Western Lake, making it a full-day destination.
The beach within Grayton Beach State Park is arguably the most pristine on 30A. The towering dunes, some reaching 25 feet high, frame the sugar-white sand and emerald waters. The lack of any development within sight creates a truly wild beach experience that's increasingly rare in Florida. The park also offers 59 campsites, nature trails, and excellent birdwatching.
While bonfires are not permitted within the state park boundaries, the adjacent Grayton Beach community and regional access provide excellent bonfire locations just steps away. Many of our guests combine a day at the state park with an evening bonfire on the public beach — the perfect 30A day.
