Henderson Beach State Park, in particular, offers a protected stretch of beach that's perfect for bonfires — wide sand, natural dunes, and less commercial development than the resort corridor.

HarborWalk Village on the Destin Harbor offers deep-sea fishing charters, dolphin cruises, restaurants, and seasonal fireworks. Henderson Beach State Park has over a mile of pristine beach and nature trails through coastal dunes.
For shopping, Destin Commons is an open-air mall with dining and entertainment. The Track Family Fun Parks and Big Kahuna's Water Park are popular with families. Silver Sands Premium Outlets in nearby Miramar Beach offer designer shopping.
